Healthcare Interventions for Children Using Nonimmersive Virtual Reality: A Mixed Methods Systematic Review

Children require self-management and social skills to grow into healthy adults (Lozano& Houtrow, 2018). Self-management involves acquiring knowledge and skills to set health goals and plan accordingly (Bravo et al., 2020; Lozano& Houtrow, 2018). Social skills enable effective communication, relationship building, and cooperation with others (Masten et al., 1995). Pediatric nurse practitioners (PNPs) play a crucial role in fostering these skills, vital for child development, to support children's growth (Seeley& Lindeke, 2017; Small et al., 2009).
