The “Future of Nursing 2020-2030: Charting a Path to Health Equity”1 report discussed nurses’ physical, mental, social, and moral well-being as a priority for nursing practice this decade. Of note, the report points out that the physical health of nurses is often worse than that of the public, par ticularly in the areas of sleep, nutrition, and physical activity.1 Nurse well-being can be impacted by several factors including, but not limited to, chronic workplace stress, exposure to infectious agents, needle sticks, workplace violence, musculoskeletal injuries, and the impact of long work hou rs and shift work.
