Giant Pseudoaneurysm of the Brachial Artery in a Newborn

A one month old boy presented with an anteromedial pulsatile mass in the left upper extremity. He had previously undergone peripheral vein cannulation 7 days before. Computed tomography angiography showed a pseudoaneurysm of the distal brachial artery measuring 50 x 25 x 30 mm (Panel A, arrow). Under general anaesthesia, the proximal and distal brachial artery was exposed (Panel B, arrow), the pseudoaneurysm was resected and, after local infusion of heparin, the repair was performed with 9-0 polypropylene interrupted sutures using microsurgical loupes.
