Response to Comment on “Gender-Based Disparity Exists in the Surgical Experience of Female and Male Urology Residents”

We appreciate Dr. Westney ’s remarks on our work. We agree with the call for (1) additional research examining gender bias within urology training, (2) internal program auditing to identify inequality in training experiences, and (3) the development of methods to mitigate existing disparity in training. Our results identif ied a cumulative median difference of 99 cases between female and male residents across 4 years of training. We acknowledge program selection is a limitation to our methods, as the 13 included programs voluntarily submitted their case log data.
