Evaluation of Student Confidence Level Pertaining to Waived Point-of-Care Blood Glucose Testing

Student confidence is important for a successful supervised practice placement experience.1 Confidence in nutrition and dietetic students has been found to precede the development of skills and competencies.2 Experiences that nurture confidence earlier in nutrition and dietetics curricula are helpful in promoting students ’ overall success in learning and competency progression.2 Opportunities such as experiential learning, which is learning by doing, occur when a student is actively engaged in an activity whereby the experience is transformed into knowledge.
