Reply to Letter to the Editor: The Use of Rifampin in Total Joint Arthroplasty: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Comparative Studies

We appreciate your observations on our review summarizing the efficacy and safety of adding rifampin in the treatment of periprosthetic joint infection. In your Letter to the Editor, you raise important questions regarding the use of rifampin in periprosthetic joint infection. We attempted to analyze and summarize all available evidence; however, there remains a scarcity of literature regarding the timing and dosing of rifampin. As noted in our review, dosage regimens were varied and often not clearly reported.
