Obstetric venous thromboembolism risk – The 28 week re-check

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) affects 1/100,000 women and is the leading cause of direct maternal deaths. Recent reviews suggest 89% of these women have identifiable risk factors. The MBRRACE-UK 2021 suggested the review of women ’s VTE risk at 28 weeks with recommendation that they should be re-weighed.
