DIC syndrome manifestation and findings during childbirth

Introduction: Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is a pathologic disruption of the finely balanced process of haemostasis. It is characterized by systemic activation of blood coagulation. Pregnancy-associated disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) accounts for approximately 1 to 5 percent of all cases of DIC in resource-abundant countries; this proportion appears to be higher in resource-limited countries.
