Skin Prick Test Using Autoclaved Peanut Extract Results in Decreased Wheal Sizes and is Associated with Lower Peanut-Specific IgE Levels in Allergic Patients

Peanut oral immunotherapy (OIT) is commonly achieved using crushed raw or roasted peanut, though adverse reactions throughout treatment are frequent. High-pressure and temperature autoclaving has been shown to alter overall protein secondary structure and decrease in vitro binding of peanut-specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE). We aimed to assess clinical responses to the autoclaved peanut.
