37. The Need to Improve Sexual and Reproductive Health Counseling and Screening by Pediatric Subspecialists for Adolescents Prescribed Teratogenic Medications

Teratogenic medication use is ubiquitous among adolescents with chronic disease. Little is known regarding sexual and reproductive health (SRH) counseling and screening related to teratogen prescription by pediatric subspecialists. Rheumatologists in particular prescribe a proportionally high number of teratogens. Our purpose was to describe these practices among a broad sample of rheumatologists caring for adolescents.
