135. Improving Contraception Counseling and Prescribing on Pediatric Hospital Medicine Service
The American Academy of Pediatrics, Center for Disease Control, and Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine advocate for contraception counseling for adolescents There is also evidence that adolescents are interested in learning about contraception while hospitalized, however rates of counseling and prescribing remain low. Our SMART aim was to increase the percentage of female adolescents prescribed contraception for any indication on the pediatric hospital medicine (PHM) service by 10% over the course of 12 months.
