Are We Too Critical of Others? “Jousting” in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in a tertiary referral academic practice, many of my patients are seeking second opinions or inquiring about the quality of their previous treatment. I am sure that we all have patients with the same issues or concerns. It is very easy to put on perfectionist's glasses and start nitpicking all the little things that another provider has not done perfectly. It is easy to criticize someone else's diagnosis, treatment plan, or execution of a surgical procedure.
