Virtual Meeting for Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) Applicants
We’re pleased to announce a virtual “office hour” on January 10 for potential applicants to our Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP).
PREP’s goal is to develop a diverse pool of well-trained postbaccalaureates who will transition into and complete rigorous biomedical, research-focused doctoral degree programs (such as Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.) in biomedical fields relevant to the NIGMS mission.
During the meeting, we’ll provide a brief overview of the PREP funding opportunity and answer your programmatic, budget, and scientific review questions. Those interested in joining the office hour are strongly encouraged to review the 2022 PREP prospective applicant webinar and companion slide deck [PDF] beforehand.
Please note we’ve recently released a notice updating the budget information for the upcoming due dates (NOT-GM-24-010) that:
Increases the maximum award budget to $500,000 direct costs per year
Increases the allowable total program director/principal investigator effort to 1.8 person-months per year
Clarifies instructions for requesting salary, fringe benefits, tuition remission, and travel
These updates will be discussed during the meeting.
