Standard imaging in the emergency department in geriatric patients with immobilizing pelvic pain after low-energy trauma or without trauma: X-ray vs. computed tomography
The incidence of geriatric pelvic ring injuries has been increasing for decades due to the global aging population phenomenon. These fractures differ significantly from pelvic ring fractures in younger patients due to: mechanism of injury; clinical presentation; fracture morphology and management [1 –3].
