Improving Neonatal Patient Outcomes Using Simulation-Based Education
Simulation-based education (SBE) has been used in neonatology for trainee education, procedural skill acquisition and maintenance, team training, leadership training, and training in complex decision-making. SBE provides an opportunity for experiential learning in a safe environment. Such education has also played a central role in the design and improvement of systems within the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and the delivery room (DR) eg, testing newly built NICU suites for functionality.
