14. Audit of Histopathological criteria outcomes for patients who had a Temporal Artery Biopsy

A temporal artery biopsy ( “TABx”) is the gold standard for diagnosis of temporal/giant cell arteritis (GCA); however, there are no standardised histopathological classification systems. Therefore, reported histopathology features vary. Although a positive biopsy is not required by American College of Rheumatology criteri a for diagnosis [1], it increases confidence in it.
