Bifidobacterium bifidum is associated with improvements in glycated hemoglobin after gastric bypass
Rationale: Bifidobacterium bifidum is one of the most commonly found Bifidobacteria in healthy adults, and the genus Bifidobacteria has been negatively associated with type 2 diabetes (T2D). Since bariatric surgery can promote changes in gut microbiota, we evaluated the associations between Bifidobacterium bifidum and biomarkers of glycemic control of T2D women three months after Roux-en-Y gastric by-pass surgery (RYGB).
