The gap between predictive equations and measured resting energy expenditure during continuous venovenous hemofiltration

Rationale: Predicted resting energy expenditure (pREE) calculated with equations has shown a large disagreement compared to measured REE (mREE) with indirect calorimetry, as a large variety of parameters influences the metabolic rate of critically ill patients.
