Everything Everywhere All at Once Directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. A24; 2022

Everything Everywhere All at Once (EEAAO), currently the most-awarded film of all time, hurtled onto the screen in 2022.1 The film follows Evelyn Wang, a jaded middle-aged Chinese immigrant leading a seemingly mundane life as a laundromat owner who, alongside her light-hearted husband Waymond, navigates life ’s challenges involving stern tax auditor Deidre, disapproving father Gong Gong, and estranged queer daughter Joy. We witness Evelyn’s discovery of a multiverse being threatened by Jobu Tupaki—a vengeful version of Joy from another universe—and her journey to transform Jobu’s nihilism thro ugh intergenerational healing and radical acceptance.
