3.4 Best Practices for Supporting Patients and Colleagues Suffering from the Effects of Racial Trauma

Structural racism has the potential to result in both direct and indirect trauma that can affect the psychological health of Black youth in America. Participants will: 1) discuss current literature relevant to healing from racial trauma; 2) familiarize themselves with a toolkit outlining techniques and skills to support patients and colleagues struggling with the effects of racial trauma; and 3) identify how and when to utilize the toolkit presented through case-based learning and interactive group discussions.
