Barriers and enablers influencing female athlete return-to-sport postpartum: A scoping review
Introduction: Motherhood within sport has become more common with many female athletes seeking to return postpartum; however, few sport organisations possess policies that support female athletes to return-to-sport postpartum. As such, it is unclear what sport organisations could or should do to help female athletes to return-to-sport postpartum. To support sport organisations in developing postpartum policy, this study aims to synthesise existing literature identifying the barriers and enablers that influence female athlete return-to-sport postpartum.
