Limited Health Literacy Results in Lower Health-Related Quality of Life in Spine Patients
Spinal conditions impact health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Patient education and counseling improve HRQoL, yet the effects may be limited for patients with inadequate health literacy (HL). Despite the established relationship between HRQoL and HL in other fields, research in the orthopaedic spine population is lacking.
