A New Phenylalkanoid of Alpinia galanga

A new ferulate-derived, (E)-15-{[3-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)acryloyl]oxy}pentadecanoic acid (named as alpinagalanate) (1), 19 known compounds were isolated from the rhizomes ofAlpinia galanga (Zingiberaceae). The structure of the new phenylalkanoid was elucidated by chemical and physical evidence.
