Current Practice to Address Adolescent Vaping in Primary Care
Adolescent vaping usage has grown exponentially over the last decade. Studies have demonstrated increased vaping use in adolescents because of the ease of concealment and the use of vaping and e-cigarette devices. Provider knowledge of this problem; screening recommendations; and treatment with pharmacotherapy, nicotine cessation programs, and behavioral considerations are important for physician and advanced practice registered nurse providers. The purpose of this article is to educate health care providers about the current practices surrounding screening and treatment for adolescents who vape.
