An investigation into the utility of diphenhydramine after one failed euploid frozen embryo transfer

It was first proposed in the 1950 ’s that histamines stimulate endometrial decidualization. Experiments in rats demonstrated that intraperitoneal injection of pyrathiazine, a histamine-releasing compound, induced a decidual response, while treatment with chronic chemical histamine releasers resulted in the depletion of endogenous histamine resources, and subsequently prevented endometrial decidualization from occurring [1]. In clinical practice, antihistamines have been used to improve embryo transfer outcomes, without supporting data.
