Oncological screening policies for transpeople
The transgender population seems to face a higher risk for multiple types of cancers compared with cisgender populations. They are less likely to undergo cancer screenings, to utilize healthcare resources and overall have poorer cancer-related outcomes. The collection of gender identity data is not standard practice in most countries, and this data is not included in national registries. Thus, information on cancer prevalence and outcomes in this population is still unknown.
