Po-03-177 implementation of a multidisciplinary, evidence-based algorithm for management of embolic stroke of undetermined source: a single center experience

Embolic stroke of undetermined source (ESUS) is a poorly understood stroke subtype. The recent secondary stroke prevention guidelines provide new clarity properly defining, evaluating, and treating this subtype. In particular, appropriate selection of patients requiring additional evaluation by TEE or extended cardiac rhythm monitoring via implantable loop recorder (ILR) was emphasized to improve diagnostic yield and resource utilization.
