The discipline of nursing is frequently noted to be both a science and an art. The scientific element is derived from the research that our doctoral prepared colleagues perform to improve the healthcare that is delivered. The art side of the equation refers to the ability of nurses to implement innovative ways of offering care based on the research of our colleagues. Nurse practitioners are one of the most adept at incorporating this dual phenomenon into their clinical practice via their educational strategies.
