Shingles in an immunocompromised child: expect the unexpected
A 5-year-old boy with a history of orbital embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma presented to the emergency room with a painful erythematous vesiculobullous rash on the left posterior cervical area that had started 36  h previously and was progressively worsening by the hour. The rash was spreading to the anterior thoracic region, shoulder, and suprascapular area, with the involvement of the C2–C5 and T2–T3 dermatomes.
