Highly Prevalent Malnutrition, Lower Nutritional Intake, And Lower Blood Levels Of Nutritional Compounds In Sub-Acute Stroke Patients With Or Without Dysphagia

Rationale: Malnutrition is prevalent after stroke, particularly if post-stroke oropharyngeal dysphagia (OD) reduces nutritional intake. Stroke complications are not limited to protein-energy malnutrition, but can also include micronutrient insufficiencies. To further understand stroke-related malnutrition, a thorough nutritional assessment was performed in sub-acute ischaemic stroke patients with or without OD.
