180. A Missing Patch in Training: Pediatric Residents ’ Attitudes, Practices, Training and Confidence Around Prescribing Nicotine Replacement Therapy

In 2021, more than 2 million middle and high school students reported using e-cigarettes in the past 30 days. Of those who use e-cigarettes, 44% endorse regular use and likely physical dependence. Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) is a recommended treatment for nicotine use disorder, however adolescents under the age of 18 are unable to access NRT without a prescription. Little is known about pediatricians ’ rate of prescribing NRT, and therefore, lack of access to NRT may be a barrier to cessation for adolescents.
