Talar Dome Osteochondral Lesions: Pre- and Postoperative Imaging

Semin Musculoskelet Radiol 2022; 26: 656-669 DOI: 10.1055/s-0042-1760217We suggest a similar approach to evaluating osteochondral lesions of the talar dome both pre- and postoperatively. This review addresses the etiology, natural history, and treatment of talar dome osteochondral lesions with an emphasis on imaging appearances. High-resolution magnetic resonance imaging, ideally combining a small field-of-view surface coil with ankle traction, optimizes visibility of most of the clinically relevant features both pre- and postoperatively.
