Impact of telehealth on the current and future practice of lipidology: a scoping review
Clinicians have used telehealth services for decades and evidence shows that it reduces hospital readmissions, increases savings for both patients and providers, and enhances quality of patient care.1 According to the World Health Organization, telemedicine is defined as the use of information and communication technologies to improve patient outcomes by increasing access to care and medical information.2 The American Telemedicine Association considers telemedicine to be synonymous with telehealth.
