Consistency of era and histological dating of spatially distinct endometrial samplings: a prospective, blinded study
The ERA is intended to provide information on the timing of embryo transfer based on transcriptional analysis of a single endometrial biopsy. However, multiple sources describe histological asynchrony between different locations in the secretory endometrium (1,2). Endometrial biopsies are not typically performed under ultrasound guidance, and therefore the exact location of the tissue retrieved from biopsy is unknown. No study to date has questioned whether ERA results are consistent between multiple, spatially distinct tissue samples from the same biopsy.
