Open Repair of Acute Type A Intramural Hematoma in 3 Patients
Tex Heart Inst J. 2020 Aug 1;47(4):290-297. doi: 10.14503/THIJ-20-7242.ABSTRACTAcute aortic syndrome encompasses classic aortic dissection and less common aortic phenomena, including intramural hematoma (IMH), a hemorrhage within the aortic media that occurs without a discrete intimal tear. Outcomes of Open v. Endovascular Repair of Descending Thoracic and Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysms
CONCLUSIONS: Open repair of descending thoracic and thoracoabdominal aneurysms can achieve acceptable short-term outcomes with better intermediate-term outcomes than endovascular repair.PMID:34048754 | DOI:10.1016/j.athoracsur.2021.04.100

Evaluation of physician-modified endografts for the treatment of thoraco-abdominal and pararenal aortic pathologies at a single institution
CONCLUSIONS: When used by experienced teams under appropriate anatomical conditions, PMEGs are a safe and effective alternative to open surgery. However, further technical advancement and larger studies with long-term follow-up periods are warranted.PMID:34338495 | DOI:10.23736/S0021-9509.21.11877-4
