Depressive symptoms in diabetic patients; prevalence, correlates, and moderating effect in Taif, Saudi Arabia
CONCLUSIONS: Distress and depression levels are worryingly higher than previous estimates from Saudi Arabia among patients with type II diabetes, indicative of an upward trend and/or a pandemic-related jump. One significant finding from our results is the substantial effect of glycaemic control on increased distress, and depression among our type II diabetes patients. Therapeutic Dilemma of Wake-up Stroke: Clinical and Brain Imaging Characteristics and Reperfusion as a Treatment Option
Conclusions: Only minor dissimilarities between clinical and radiologic features of WUS and clear-onset stroke were found. Circadian patterns of stroke onset were observed in both groups. Stroke was more likely to occur during waking than during sleep, and a diurnal pattern of common occurrence during the morning was documented. Recognition of the acceptable timeframe for acute reperfusion therapy in unwitnessed strokes is crucial so that thrombolytic treatment can be started for these patients.PMID:36441986 | DOI:10.4088/PCC.21m03216

Intracerebral Hemorrhages Related to Clinical Conditions and Associated Outcomes Among Saudi and Non-Saudi Patients in a University Hospital: A Retrospective Study
Conclusion: Non-Saudi ICH survivors had significant intraventricular extension of hematoma and required more neurosurgical interventions such as EVD procedures compared to Saudi patients. Both groups had associated comorbidities that may influence the incidence of ICH.
