Six-year single-centre experience in minimally invasive mitral valve repair - impact of the team learning curve on in-hospital clinical outcome.
Conclusions: The procedure is safe and ensures optimal perioperative results. The number of complications is low and acceptable. PMID: 31043972 [PubMed]

Comparison of the long-term outcomes and risk factors of aortic stenosis treatment - in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation and surgical aortic valve replacement
CONCLUSIONS: There were no significant differences regarding prognosis after TAVI and SAVR at the 24-month follow-up in propensity score matching model. Independent predictive factors of late mortality after both procedures were EuroScore II and the respiratory failure. Independent predictive factors of late mortality specific for TAVI were NOAF, increased RDW and for SAVR: TIA, stroke, COPD and RBC transfusion.PMID:35521716 | DOI:10.33963/KP.a2022.0122

Transcatheter aortic valve implantation at a high-volume center: the Bad Rothenfelde experience.
Conclusions: At this high-volume center, the use of a "best for TF" approach to TAVI resulted in low mortality and complication rates. PMID: 29354172 [PubMed]

Ministernotomy or sternotomy in isolated aortic valve replacement? Early results.
Conclusions: Ministernotomy for AVR is a safe method and does not increase morbidity and mortality. It significantly reduces post-operative blood loss and shortens hospital stay. Ministernotomy can be successfully used as an alternative method to sternotomy. PMID: 30647743 [PubMed]

Long-term echocardiographic evaluation of asymptomatic patients undergoing minimally invasive valve repair for severe primary mitral regurgitation.
CONCLUSIONS: Minimally invasive mitral valve repair is a safe and efficient method of correction in asymptomatic patients. The intervention should be performed regardless of ventricular and atrial dimensions. PMID: 32267134 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Catheter ablation of cavotricuspid isthmus in patients with atrial flutter: predictors of long-term outcomes.
CONCLUSION: Ablation of CTI with minimal number of electrodes is safe and effective. There are specific predictors of events during long-term outcome. PMID: 32500993 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Effectiveness of surgical closure of left atrial appendage during minimally invasive mitral valve surgery.
CONCLUSIONS: Surgical LAAC during minimally invasive mitral valve surgery through the right minithoracotomy is an effective technique with durable results. PMID: 32735408 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

More for less - Long-Term Survival Modelling for Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement follow-up. The division between a ministernotomy and a full sternotomy approach
CONCLUSIONS: MIAVR through ministernotomy provides at least as good long-term survival as FSAVR. Nevertheless, it should be recommended for diabetic, poor mobility patients with pre-existing AF in order to reduce their high cerebrovascular risk and to limit the progression of HF. MIAVR also needs to be considered in patients with chronic lung diseases to improve their extremely poor survival prognosis.PMID:35188218 | DOI:10.33963/KP.a2022.0056

Prognostic value of computer tomography derived measurements of pulmonary artery diameter on long term outcomes after transcatheter aortic valve replacement
CONCLUSION: PAD >29.3 mm in baseline MDCT is associated with higher 1-year mortality after TAVR, independently of echocardiographic measure of PH and frailty.PMID:35892248 | DOI:10.33963/KP.a2022.0173
