COVID-19 and Stroke Recurrence by Subtypes: A Propensity-Score Matched Analyses of Stroke Subtypes in 44,994 Patients
Cerebrovascular diseases (CVDs), including varying strokes, can recur in patients upon coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) diagnosis, but risk factor stratification based on stroke subtypes and outcomes is not well studied in large studies using propensity-score matching. We identified risk factors and stroke recurrence based on varying subtypes in patients with a prior CVD and COVID-19.

Unprotected stroke management in an undiagnosed case of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 infection
We report the case of a 79-year-old woman, who was admitted for a wake-up stroke due to occlusion of the left middle cerebral artery. She was treated outside the COVID-19-dedicated track of the hospital because she had no concomitant signs or symptoms suggestive of SARS-CoV-2 infection nor recent contact with other infected individuals.

Care for Patients with Stroke During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Suggestions for Preventing Secondary Stroke
Infection with the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 causes the development of the novel 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and associated clinical symptoms, which typically presents as an upper respiratory syndrome such as pneumonia. Growing evidence indicates an increased prevalence of neurological involvement (e.g., in the form of stroke) during virus infection. COVID-19 has been suggested to be more than a lung infection because it affects the vasculature of the lungs and other organs and increases the risk of thrombosis.

Outcomes of COVID-19 complications and their possibilities as potential triggers of stroke
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been a pandemic like no other seen in our times. It has impacted the entire globe affecting more than 180 countries with 81.9 million cases and 1.7 million deaths as of December 29, 20201. Unlike other virus-related spread, COVID-19 since its early days is known to have a high infection rate as well as high mortality, which in turn has resulted in such a devastating impact across the world. The mortality rates among hospitalized patients with COVID-19 infection without stroke range from 22% to 45%2,3, but the mortality was very high (38%) in stroke patients with COVID-19 infections4.

Exploring the relationship between Air Quality and Ischemic Stroke Admissions during the COVID-19 pandemic
Amongst all the global catastrophe due to Coronavirus disease 2019, a significant bright spot is a reduction in air pollution as countries undergo lockdowns to limit the spread of infection. Another reduction that has been reported is in the number of strokes presenting to hospitals, despite the virus implicated in causing a hypercoagulable state. Acute exposure to air pollution has been linked to increase in stroke incidence and the improvement in air quality may be responsible for the decrease in stroke presentations.
