Comparison of stroke volume measurements during hemodialysis using bioimpedance cardiography and echocardiography
Conclusion: NiCaS SV measurements are similar to and strongly correlated with Echo SV measurements. This suggests that noninvasive NiCaS technology may be a practical method for measuring SV during HD.

Low‐dose aspirin for prevention of cardiovascular disease in patients on hemodialysis: A 5‐y prospective cohort study
In this study, 406 patients on regular HD were involved during a 5‐y follow‐up. Among these, 152 and 254 propensity‐matched patients were enrolled in the aspirin and nonaspirin cohort, respectively. The cumulative survival rate was not significantly higher in the aspirin than in the nonaspirin users (log rank χ2 = 1.080, P = 0.299). Aspirin use was not significantly associated with reduced all‐cause mortality, fatal and nonfatal congestive heart failure, as well as acute myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke. Clearance of myoglobin by high cutoff continuous veno‐venous hemodialysis in a patient with rhabdomyolysis: A case report
Abstract Continuous veno‐venous hemodialysis using high cutoff filters (HCO‐CVVHD) is a promising technique, which may be effective to decrease the extremely high level of circulating myoglobin in patients with rhabdomyolysis (RM). Here, we report a patient with RM caused by heat stroke who was successfully treated by HCO‐CVVHD. A male patient received HCO‐CVVHD with 4 L/h dialysate for 5 days and then pre‐dilution continuous veno‐venous hemofiltration (CVVH) at a dose of 4 L/h until recovery of renal function. Piperacillin/tazobactam‐induced neurotoxicity in a hemodialysis patient: A case report
This report presents a case of a hypertensive and diabetic 67‐year‐old woman in regular hemodialysis, which previously had a stroke. She was hospitalized presenting pneumonia, which was initially treated with cefepime. Two days after treatment, she presented dysarthria, left hemiparesis, ataxia, and IX and X cranial nerves paresis. Computed tomography showed no acute lesions and cefepime neurotoxicity was hypothesized, and the antibiotic was replaced by piperacillin/tazobactam. Cerebral microbleeds and cognitive decline in a hemodialysis patient: Case report and review of literature
We present an ESRD patient on chronic hemodialysis with a history of gradual cognitive decline and progressive CMBs. Through this case and literature review, we illustrate the need to develop detection and prediction models to treat this frequent development in ESRD patients.
