The effect of intravenous ginkgolide on clinical improvement of patients with acute ischemic stroke.
Conclusion: Intravenous ginkgolide may improve the outcome of acute ischemic stroke. Differences in effect between pre-marketing and post-marketing studies may be associated with gender, time of onset to enrollment and severity of stroke. PMID: 32048567 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Management of endovascular therapy for acute ischemic stroke amid the COVID-2019 pandemic: a multicenter survey in China
Conclusions: The volume of EVT for acute ischemic stroke severely declined after lockdown in China. Designating a specific area for COVID-19 screening, insufficient personal protection and understaffing may exacerbate the volume decline of EVT.PMID:34375569 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2021.1939236

Independent and combined effect of income and education attainment on the incidence of stroke events: a large-scale cohort study from rural communities in China
DISCUSSION: Lower income and education attainment were associated with an increased risk of stroke in Chinese countrysides. A joint effect of income and education existed on the risk of developing stroke. Special attention should be paid for rural community residents, especially for people with low income levels.PMID:36745626 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2023.2176630

Risk factors for in-hospital mortality among acute ischemic stroke patients in China: a nationwide prospective study.
Conclusions: The findings from this study may help clinicians control the risk of IHM better for patients with AIS. PMID: 33357098 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Association between insulin resistance and aspirin or clopidogrel resistance in Chinese patients with recent ischemic stroke/TIA.
Conclusions: Insulin resistance was an independent predictor for development of antiplatelet drug resistance in patients with recent minor ischemic stroke or TIA. More attention should be paid to recognize these patients and antithrombotic effect should be monitored when antiplatelet drugs were applied to these patients. PMID: 33455562 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Effects of different frequencies of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation in stroke patients with non-fluent aphasia: a randomized, sham-controlled study.
CONCLUSIONS: LF-rTMS and HF-rTMS are both beneficial to the recovery of linguistic function in patients with post-stroke non-fluent aphasia. LF-rTMS produced immediate benefits that persisted long-term, while HF-rTMS only produced long-term benefits. In addition, the benefits produced with LF-rTMS were more marked than those produced by HF-rTMS. PMID: 29589518 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Predictors of mortality and recurrent stroke within five years of intracerebral hemorrhage.
Conclusion Predictors of recurrent stroke were older females, hypertension, diabetes, and brain stem hemorrhage. These findings may help to determine specific treatment strategies and improve quality of health care for such patients. PMID: 30134784 [PubMed - in process]

Risk factors associated with recurrence of ischemic stroke after intracranial stenting in china: a case-control study
Conclusions: Recurrence of ischemic stroke after intracranial stenting may be associated with elderly age, non-smoking, and Mori C type lesion. These factors will need to be monitored in future trials of intracranial stenting.Clinical Trial Registration: URL: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Predictors, timing, causes and cost of 30-day readmission after acute ischemic stroke: insights from a Chinese cohort 2015-2018
CONCLUSIONS: The findings highlight the importance of the readmission of ischemic stroke and corresponding policies and interventions, and our work could provide a potential manage path for the reduction of readmission rate.PMID:35876140 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2022.2105489
