Comparison of Acute Ischemic Stroke Care and Outcomes Between Comprehensive Stroke Centers and Primary Stroke Centers in the United States Original Articles
Conclusions: CSCs and PSCs achieved similar overall care quality for patients with acute ischemic stroke. CSCs exceeded PSCs in timely acute reperfusion therapy for emergency department admissions, whereas PSCs had lower risk-adjusted in-hospital mortality. This information may be important for acute stroke triage and targeted quality improvement.

Ethnic Differences in Prevalence of Post-stroke Depression Original Articles
Conclusions: MAs had a higher prevalence of PSD at 90 days than NHWs. The ethnic difference was explained by sociodemographic and health factors, especially low educational attainment.

Abstract 243: A Novel Cost Effectiveness Model of Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) for Secondary Prevention in the United States Session Title: Poster Session II
Conclusions: This novel model suggests that combining EPA with statin therapy for secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease in the United States may be cost-saving and appears to be a more compelling intervention than statin monotherapy. The framework of this model provides a starting point for development of microsimulation models as more data become available.

Conclusions: In 2010 a majority of stroke patients in the United States were hospitalized in an area with established or transitioning to EMS diversion. This milestone coverage of half the US population is a major advance in systematic stroke care, and emphasizes the need for novel approaches, such as telemedicine, to further extend access to stroke center care to all patients.
