The management of patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention with stent implantation: In‐hospital‐data from the Atrial Fibrillation undergoing Coronary Artery Stenting (AFCAS) study
ConclusionsThe majority of AF patients undergoing PCI‐S are at high stroke risk, and therefore VKA treatment should not be withdrawn and combined anticoagulant and antiplatelet treatment is warranted. Current management appears largely in accordance with current recommendations, whereby accounting for the limited occurrence of in‐hospital adverse ischemic and bleeding events. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

The presence of angiographic collaterals in non‐ST elevation myocardial infarction is a predictor of long‐term clinical outcomes
Conclusions: In patients with NSTEMI the presence of angiographic coronary collaterals is a predictor of long‐term clinical outcomes primarily driven by increased rates of surgical revascularization. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Procedural success and long‐term outcomes of aspiration thrombectomy for the treatment of stent thrombosis
Conclusions: Aspiration thrombectomy is associated with improved coronary flow and procedural success but is not associated with improved long‐term outcomes among patients undergoing percutaneous intervention for definite ST. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Patient preferences for coronary artery bypass graft surgery or percutaneous intervention in multivessel coronary artery disease
Conclusion: Patients favor mv‐PCI over CABG to treat mv‐CAD, even if 1‐year risks of death and repeat procedures far exceed risk with CABG. Physicians are more influenced by actual risk and prefer mv‐PCI less than patients despite similarly quoted 1‐year risks. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Impact of advanced age on the safety and effectiveness of paclitaxel‐eluting stent implantation in patients with ST‐segment elevation myocardial infarction undergoing primary angioplasty: The HORIZONS‐AMI trial
