Valve-Sparing Root Replacement vs Composite Valve Grafting in Aortic Root Dilation: A Meta-Analysis
ConclusionsAortic valve sparing appears to be safe, and associated with reduced late mortality, thromboembolism/stroke and bleeding compared with composite valve grafting. Late durability is equivalent. Aortic valve sparing should be considered in patients with favorable aortic valve morphology.Graphical abstract

TAVR After Prior Mitral Valve Surgery: Results from the Transcatheter Valve Therapy Registry
ConclusionsPatients with prior SMVR undergoing TAVR had similar 30-day outcomes, slightly higher 1-year mortality, and no increase in early PVL compared to those without previous SMVR. Prior SMVR should not preclude TAVR in appropriately selected patients.

Long-Term Single Centre Outcomes of Patients with Chronic Renal Dialysis Undergoing Cardiac Surgery
CONCLUSIONSCardiac surgery in DD-CRF patients is associated with high morbidity and mortality. Interestingly, overall mortality was mainly none cardiac-related, where elderly patients or those presented with CHF had the worst life expectancy. However, subsequent kidney transplantation positively impact long-term survival in such patients.

Results of left ventricular reconstruction with and without mitral valve surgery
ConclusionsThe clinical outcomes of left ventricular reconstruction are comparable to those of left ventricular reconstruction plus mitral valve surgery in patients with left aneurysm and moderate mitral regurgitation.

Reversal and Resumption of Antithrombotic Therapy in LVAD-Associated Intracranial Hemorrhage
ConclusionsReversal of anticoagulation appears safe after LVAD-associated intracranial hemorrhage, though inadequate reversal was common. Resumption of warfarin ± antiplatelet was associated with fewer fatal and nonfatal thrombotic events compared with antiplatelets alone, though more nonfatal hemorrhage events occurred.

Complete Sternal-Sparing HeartMate 3 Implantation: A Case Series of 10 Consecutive Patients
ConclusionsOur early outcomes suggest that the CSS approach may reduce the incidence of right ventricular failure, bleeding, intubation time, and intensive care unit length of stay. Further studies are needed to fully elucidate the advantages of CSS LVAD implantation compared with median sternotomy.

Reversal and Resumption of Antithrombotic Therapy in LVAD- Associated Intracranial Hemorrhage
ConclusionsReversal of anticoagulation appears safe following LVAD-associated intracranial hemorrhage, though inadequate reversal was common. Resumption of warfarin±antiplatelet was associated with fewer fatal and non-fatal thrombotic events compared to antiplatelets alone, though more non-fatal hemorrhage events occurred.

Association Between Red Blood Cell Transfusion and Clinical Outcomes Among Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement
ConclusionsPRBC transfusion in patients undergoing TAVR is associated with an increased incidence of adverse outcomes during hospitalization, at 30-day and 1-year follow-up.

Complete sternal-sparing HeartMate 3 implantation: a case series of ten consecutive patients
ConclusionsOur early outcomes suggest that the CSS approach may reduce the incidence of right ventricular failure, bleeding, intubation time and ICU length of stay. Further studies are needed to fully elucidate the advantages of CSS LVAD implantation compared with median sternotomy.

Clinical Outcomes of Mitral Valve Reoperations in the United States: An Analysis of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons National Database
ConclusionsDespite a high-risk patient profile, surgical outcomes of reoperative MVS were acceptable, particularly in elective cases with prior mitral valve surgery and without endocarditis.

Hybrid Coronary Revascularization Versus On-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting
Conclusions For selected patients, HCR is associated with a faster postoperative recovery as well as similar short-term and long-term outcomes when compared with standard on-pump CABG.

Outcomes of Coronary Artery Bypass and Stents for Unprotected Left Main Coronary Stenosis
Conclusions The early advantages of stenting over coronary artery bypass grafting have been shown to progressively shift to coronary artery bypass grafting over time. Further larger sample randomized controlled trials are warranted to confirm the results.
