Eligibility for revascularization in acute stroke: a 12 year single center statistics (P2.288)
Conclusions: Of patients arriving within 6 hours at a comprehensive stroke center, 10.5[percnt] are EVT-eligible according to AHA/ASA criteria, 17.7[percnt] with criteria resembling randomized controlled trials, and double for IV thrombolysis (36.2[percnt]). These figures may be useful for planning resource needs of stroke care on a regional level. Disclosure: Dr. Vanacker has nothing to disclose. Dr. Lambrou has nothing to disclose. Comparison of Ventricular Assist Device (VAD)-Related Stroke to the General Stroke Population: Associations with In-Hospital Mortality (P1.223)
Conclusions: Ischemic stroke in patients with VAD is associated with high in-hospital mortality. Although both older patients and women comprised a smaller percentage of VADWS than in the general stroke population, there was no age or sex association with mortality. While pre-existing CAD was more prevalent in VADWS, these patients had lower in-hospital mortality, possibly suggesting an additional unidentified subset with high mortality. Further study is needed to explore the associations between age, sex, and CAD in patients with VAD and ischemic stroke.Disclosure: Dr. Peters has nothing to disclose. Dr. Singh has nothing...

Association Between Anthropometric Measurements and Stroke in Patients with Low CHADS2 Score (P1.226)
Conclusion: In contrast to the available literature, we found that patients with low risk CHADS2 score with subsequent acute stroke were taller with statistical significance than those with high CHADS2 score. The implication of this finding is that such variations in anthropometric measurements might predispose patients with atrial fibrillation to higher risk of stroke regardless of their CHADS2 score. Accordingly, stroke risk stratification models should include these measurements in contemporary practice.Disclosure: Dr. Hassan has nothing to disclose. Dr. Villines has nothing to disclose.

Factors Influencing Oral Anticoagulant Prescribing Practices for Atrial Fibrillation among Cardiologists, Internists, and Vascular Neurologists (P1.227)
Conclusions: Medical specialties differ in their reasons for selecting NOACs over warfarin and in their use of aspirin with warfarin. Educational interventions may prevent misinterpretations of clinical trial results, particularly with regards to comparative efficacy in the prevention of ischemic stroke and intracerebral hemorrhage. Mismanagement of Atrial Fibrillation (AF) as a Modifiable Risk Factor (MRF) for Ischemic Stroke (iStroke) (P1.228)

Atrial Fibrillations Effect on the Rate of Ischemic Stroke, Death and Disability in Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (P1.256)
Conclusion: There are significantly decreased rates of favorable outcomes in subarachnoid hemorrhage patients with atrial fibrillation. Further studies are warranted to better understand the associated factors.Disclosure: Dr. Hassan has nothing to disclose. Dr. Afzal has nothing to disclose. Dr. Chaudhry has nothing to disclose. Alcoholism and In-Hospital Mortality among Hemorrhagic Stroke Patients in Puerto Rico (P1.263)
Conclusions: The adjusted OR of 3.18 suggests a positive association and in-patient hemorrhagic stroke mortality. However the small sample size and low power limit the ability to delineate a clear statistical association, thereby warranting further study into this subject matter as alcoholism is a modifiable risk factor and early interventions may lower hemorrhagic stroke mortality in this population.Disclosure: Dr. Smirnoff has nothing to disclose. Rheumatic Valve Disease and Stroke. A Public Health Problem in Countries in Way of Develop (P1.288)
Conclusions: In our population RVD with or without AF is the main cause of cerebral ischemia, just preceded by thrombosis of large arteries, affecting young and productive people, which severely impacts the economy of families and country that walking towards development. Mexico along with other emerging countries needs to implement public health programs in the early diagnosis and treatment of this health problem.Disclosure: Dr. Mendez-Dominguez has nothing to disclose. From 'Sweet Clover Disease' to NOACs: A Historical Perspective on Oral Anticoagulation for Prevention of Cardioembolic Stroke (P2.397)
CONCLUSIONS: Warfarin, born from ‘sweet clover disease’ and humble beginnings as rodenticide, has been the cornerstone of cardioembolic stroke prevention. Its shortcomings inspired the development of a new generation of oral anticoagulants.Disclosure: Dr. Chiota-McCollum has nothing to disclose.

Incidence of Atrial Fibrillation within One Year of Cryptogenic Stroke among a Large, Real-World Population with Insertable Cardiac Monitors (I2.005)
Conclusions: AF episodes were detected via continuous monitoring with ICMs in almost 1 of every 6 CS patients within 1 year of follow-up. Most patients with AF had at least one episode lasting >1 hour and the first AF episode occurred beyond the range of conventional external ambulatory monitors in the vast majority of patients. Therefore ICMs should be strongly considered in the evaluation of CS patients.Disclosure: Dr. Rogers has received research support from Medtronic. Rate of Endovascular Therapy in Octogenarian/Nonagenarian Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients Compared to Younger Patients (I2.007)
Conclusions: Frequency of EVT and IV-TPA use in AIS patients 蠅80years are increasing but rates remain significantly lower compared with younger patients.
