Leukoaraiosis Attenuates Diagnostic Accuracy of Large-Vessel Occlusion Scales INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: The diagnostic accuracy of the tested large-vessel occlusion scales was attenuated in the presence of moderate-to-severe leukoaraiosis. This information that may aid the design of future studies that require large-vessel occlusion scale screening of patients who are likely to have concomitant leukoaraiosis.

Necessary Catheter Diameters for Mechanical Thrombectomy with ADAPT INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: Our theoretic model allows estimating the minimal catheter diameters needed for successful mechanical thrombectomy with ADAPT, as demonstrated by the good agreement with our animal experiments. Our model will be helpful to interventionalists in avoiding selecting catheters that are likely too small to be effective.

Endovascular Treatment of Vein of Galen Malformations: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis PEDIATRICS
CONCLUSIONS: Patients receiving endovascular embolization of vein of Galen malformations experienced good long-term clinical outcomes in >60% of cases. Appropriate patient selection is key as treatment guided by the Bicêtre neonatal evaluation score was associated with improved neurologic outcomes.

Association between Carotid Plaque Features on CTA and Cerebrovascular Ischemia: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis EXTRACRANIAL VASCULAR
CONCLUSIONS: Soft plaque, plaque ulceration, and increased common carotid artery wall thickness on CTA are associated with ipsilateral cerebrovascular ischemia, while calcified plaque is negatively associated with downstream ischemic events.

Clinical and Imaging Characteristics of Arteriopathy Subtypes in Children with Arterial Ischemic Stroke: Results of the VIPS Study PEDIATRICS
CONCLUSIONS: Childhood arteriopathy subtypes have some typical features that aid diagnosis. Better imaging methods, including vessel wall imaging, are needed for improved classification of focal cerebral arteriopathy of childhood.

Anterior Circulation Acute Ischemic Stroke Associated with Atherosclerotic Lesions of the Cervical ICA: A Nosologic Entity Apart ADULT BRAIN
CONCLUSIONS: Our study suggests that atherothrombotic tandem occlusions represent a peculiar and different nosologic entity compared with dissection-related tandem occlusions. This challenging cause of acute ischemic stroke should be differentiated from other etiologies in patient management in future prospective studies.

Age, Sex, and Racial Differences in Neuroimaging Use in Acute Stroke: A Population-Based Study ADULT BRAIN
CONCLUSIONS: Within a large, biracial stroke/TIA population, there is variation in the use of advanced neuroimaging by age and race, depending on the care center type.

Improved Detection of Anterior Circulation Occlusions: The "Delayed Vessel Sign" on Multiphase CT Angiography ADULT BRAIN
CONCLUSIONS: The delayed vessel sign is a reliable indicator of anterior circulation vessel occlusion, particularly in cases involving distal branches. Assessment of the later phases of multiphase CTA for the delayed vessel sign leads to a significant improvement in the speed and confidence of interpretation, compared with single-phase CTA.

The Use and Utility of Aspiration Thrombectomy in Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: ADAPT and aspiration thrombectomy are effective approaches to thrombectomy, with high recanalization rates and excellent clinical outcomes reported in the literature. Aspiration thrombectomy is a promising neurointervention, but large prospective randomized studies are needed to validate its utility.

Association between Intracranial Atherosclerotic Calcium Burden and Angiographic Luminal Stenosis Measurements ADULT BRAIN
CONCLUSIONS: There is a weak correlation between intracranial atherosclerotic calcium scores and luminal narrowing, which may be explained by the greater sensitivity of CT than angiography in detecting the presence of measurable atherosclerotic disease. Future studies are warranted to evaluate the relationship between stenosis and calcium burden in predicting stroke risk.

Pericortical Enhancement on Delayed Postgadolinium Fluid-Attenuated Inversion Recovery Images in Normal Aging, Mild Cognitive Impairment, and Alzheimer Disease ADULT BRAIN
CONCLUSIONS: Postcontrast pericortical enhancement on FLAIR images occurs in older individuals with normal cognition, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia. It may represent chronic focal superficial BBB leakage. Future longitudinal studies are needed to determine its clinical significance.

Value of Thrombus CT Characteristics in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke ADULT BRAIN
CONCLUSIONS: In our study on patients with large-vessel occlusion of the anterior circulation, CT thrombus characteristics appear useful for predicting functional outcome. However, in our study cohort, the effect of intra-arterial treatment was independent of the thrombus CT characteristics. Therefore, no arguments were provided to select patients for intra-arterial treatment using thrombus CT characteristics.

Effect of Retrievable Stent Size on Endovascular Treatment of Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Multicenter Study INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: We found no evidence of a differential effect of intra-arterial therapy based on the size of Solitaire retrievers. In patients with atherosclerotic disease, favorable reperfusion was associated with deployment of a small stent.
