They comprise traditional(t) NSAIDs and selective cyclooxygenase(COX)-2 inhibitors (named coxibs). The analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of NSAIDs are dependent on the extent and duration of COX-2 inhibition in the spinal cord and inflammatory sites.
