Investigating the association between inpatient stroke therapy and disability, destination on discharge, length of stay and mortality: a prospective cohort study using the Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme
Conclusions Our findings suggest for stroke inpatients requiring therapy, ‘More is better’ may be overly simplistic. Strong limitations associated with analysis of routine data restrict further robust investigation of the therapy–response relationship. Robust prospective work is urgently needed to further investigate the relationships observed here.

Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP) - Based on data from 664 post-acute services, this report describes the organisation of post-acute stroke care in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and Jersey as of 1 April 2021. Overall, the report found some improvements when compared to 2015, including the fact that 99 per cent of services have access to an occupational therapist, physiotherapist and rehab assistant (95 per cent in 2015).ReportMore detail

Physiotherapists' experiences of early mobilization after stroke thrombolysis in England and Wales: A qualitative study.
CONCLUSIONS: Physiotherapists describe a variety of practices with careful implementation of any early mobilization after thrombolysis. Common factors of risk assessment reported by participants could contribute to guideline development. PMID: 32735467 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
