E-107 Carotid artery stenting in patients with symptomatic non-stenotic carotid artery disease - a case series
ConclusionsIn this case series performed over a 10-year period at a high-volume stroke center we show that CAS is safe and efficient in patients with SyNC. Previous studies have established safety and effectiveness of CES in patients presenting with SyNC, however there is a paucity of reports in the literature regarding the effect of CAS in this patient population. Recent guidelines have brought specific attention to high-risk plaque characteristics which suggest that plaque instability plays a major role in the onset of ischemic events, regardless of lumen narrowing. Advanced imaging techniques, such as Optical Coherence ...

O-005 Comparison of on-label versus off-label treatment of intracranial aneurysms with the pipeline embolization devices
ConclusionIn real-world practice, off-label uses of PED can achieve similar safety and efficacy to on-label uses, though there may be a slightly higher rate of ischemic complications in off-label uses. Expert judgment is a useful supplement to official guidelines when assessing reasonable PED use beyond its approved indications.Disclosures S. Cler: None. D. Lauzier: None. A. O-019 Increasing inner diameter leads to faster thrombectomy with aspiration in acute ischemic stroke
ConclusionThis multicenter, consecutive real-world experience demonstrates that M1 thrombectomy with a larger distal ID catheter is associated with faster time to recanalization and higher rate of TICI 2C or better recanalization on first pass, but also with a higher rate of hemorrhage on follow up imaging.Disclosures J. P-007 Safety and efficacy of endovascular thrombectomy for distal vessel occlusion (DLV): single center experience
ConclusionThis single center, consecutive real-world experience demonstrates that thrombectomy in DVO stroke patients is safe and leads to high rate of successful recanalization. P-009 An angled tip is associated with improved technical outcomes when using 0.064-0.074 aspiration catheters: analysis from a multicenter retrospective cohort
ConclusionThis multicenter, consecutive real-world experience demonstrates that M1 thrombectomy with an angled tip aspiration catheter is associated with higher rates of TICI 2C or better reperfusion, equal rates of TICI 2B or better reperfusion, and faster time to successful reperfusion.Disclosures J. O-005 preliminary results of the trevo retriever registry
ConclusionsThe Trevo Retriever Registry represents the first look at the real world data with stent retriever use in the era of clinical trials showing the overwhelming benefit of stent retrievers to treat acute ischemic stroke. E-071 initial experiences with the 5max ace 64 in the endovascular management of acute ischemic stroke
ConclusionIn our experience, this new version of the 5Max is very efficient in the aspiration of the thrombus. Due to its larger lumen, it’s more difficult to navigate over the smaller microcatheters through tortuous segments of the target vessels, especially the ophthalmic region of the ICA. Using the 3Max instead, the navigation gets easy, but it’s very difficult to get a roadmap or perform an angiogram through the ACE, due to the larger OD of the 3Max. Partially retrieving the 3Max, or preparing the roadmap while the 3Max is still in the proximal part of the ACE has solved this issue in our experience.Disclo...

A novel model of large vessel ischemic stroke in rabbits: microcatheter occlusion of the posterior cerebral artery
Conclusions Image-guided microcatheter induction of PCA occlusion in rabbits can consistently produce time-dependent infarction of cortical and subcortical structures that is reliably detected by diffusion-weighted MRI, and thus may be a useful model for therapeutic studies in acute ischemic stroke.
