Endoluminal flow diverters in the treatment of sidewall and bifurcation aneurysm: A systematic review and meta-analysis of complications and angiographic outcomes
CONCLUSIONS: This meta-analysis of sidewall and bifurcation aneurysms treated with endoluminal flow diverters demonstrated no significant differences in complications or occlusion rates. These data provide new information that can be used as a benchmark for comparison with emerging devices for the treatment of bifurcation aneurysms.PMID:34154429 | DOI:10.1177/15910199211026713

Improving endovascular access to the target vessel for thrombus aspiration -Use of the wedge device to overcome anatomic hurdles
CONCLUSION: The wedge microcatheter is a successful tool in delivering the aspiration catheter to the desired vessel for revascularisation.PMID:34121488 | DOI:10.1177/15910199211024794

White thrombus as a possible feature of atypical stroke etiology: < em > Coxiella burnetii < /em > as the primary cause of acute ischemic stroke
We describe a singular case report of a 62- year-old male with AIS related to the occlusion of the left middle cerebral artery. Thrombus-aspiration allowed retrieving a 6 millimeters white thrombus. The real-time polymerase chain reaction performed on the thrombus detected Coxiella Burnetii allowed the diagnosis of infective endocarditis (IE) and the identification of the specific pathogen. Coxiella Burnetii is an endemic, small, intracellular, gram-negative coccobacillus and it is a rare cause of IE. The management of AIS caused by IE remains controversial, although in the cases of major occlusion mechanical thrombectomy ...

Chronic fusiform extracranial vertebral artery aneurysm with recurrent posterior circulation emboli: Case report and review of the literature
We report a case of a 64-year-old man with a fusiform right extracranial vertebral artery aneurysm, spanning over half the extra-cranial V2 (foraminal) segment, presenting with recurrent multi-focal posterior circulation embolic ischaemic stroke. The patient was treated with endovascular embolisation of the right vertebral artery to prevent further thrombo-embolic events. Distal and proximal occlusion of the aneurysmal vertebral artery was performed with a micro-vascular plug with partial aneurysm sack embolisation to aid thrombosis and reduce the risk of recanalisation. Two months post procedure MR angiography confirmed s...
