Early and midterm outcomes of in situ fenestration via adjustable puncture needle for Ankura aortic stent graft: A single-center experience
CONCLUSION: Early and midterm outcomes demonstrated that ISF via the adjustable puncture needle device for the Ankura aorta stent graft is a feasible and effective treatment method, which can achieve high technical success and satisfactory short-term results.PMID:37496151 | DOI:10.1177/17085381231192376

Extent of mural thrombus is not associated with increased 5-year mortality following elective AAA repair
CONCLUSIONS: In our experience, the extent of mural thrombus in AAA does not influence long-term survival after elective repair. AAA repair may provide protection against circulating components of mural thrombus which have the potential to promote atherosclerotic-related adverse events. Patients with renal insufficiency and larger AAA have increased risk of mortality 5 years after elective repair.PMID:35331063 | DOI:10.1177/17085381211063282

Chimney endovascular aneurysm repair (ChEVAR) for hostile neck complex aneurysm
CONCLUSION: Reintervention to multiple chimney grafts and for persistent gutter-flow is higher compared to single chimneys and demands close surveillance. However, based upon this combined transantlantic experience, we believe multiple ChEVAR provides a reasonable and safe option for complex aortic aneurysm repair when open or custom endografts are not available or indicated based on their Instructions For use, even when triple chimney grafts are required. The optimal configuration for multiple ChEVAR still warrants further study, although theoretical preliminary advantages may exist for a combination of antegrade and retr...

Perioperative cardiovascular complications rate and activity of coagulation and fibrinolysis among patients undergoing vascular surgery for peripheral artery disease and abdominal aortic aneurysm.
CONCLUSIONS: The study suggests higher activation of coagulation and relatively lower fibrinolytic activity in peripheral artery disease group compared to patients undergoing surgery for abdominal aortic aneurysm without a significant difference in cardiovascular outcomes. Single-center mid-term experience with chimney-graft technique for the preservation of flow to the supra-aortic branches.
Conclusions The chimney-graft technique, despite a technically demanding strategy, is a useful tool as bailout procedure in our armamentarium for high-risk patients, unsuitable for open or hybrid repair. PMID: 29022854 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Management of hemothorax after thoracic endovascular aortic repair for ruptured aneurysms.
Conclusions The morbidity and mortality of ruptured degenerative thoracic aortic aneurysms remains high despite the introduction of TEVAR. In this single-center experience, there was a trend toward decreased respiratory complications and increased survival with early chest decompression of hemothorax after TEVAR. Open versus endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm: Incidence of cardiovascular events in 632 patients in a department of defense cohort over 6-year follow-up.
CONCLUSION: EVAR was associated with lower 30-day mortality rates; however, this benefit was not sustained in longer-term follow-up. There is no difference in the rates of stroke, myocardial infarction, or cardiac arrhythmia at 30 days or in long-term follow-up. PMID: 25134851 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Clinical outcomes in hybrid repair procedures for pathologies involving the aortic arch.
ConclusionsIn severely ill patients with complex aortic diseases, hybrid therapy may offer a promising alternative to conventional open repair. PMID: 24621559 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
